Meet Denis, a bright young boy from the community of Parramos, Chimaltenango, who joined our program last year as part of the Panamá team. From the start, Denis stood out for his passion for soccer and his quiet strength. While it took time for him to engage deeply in the devotionals, we saw in him the heart of a future leader.

Denis lives with his grandmother and little sister. His mother, a loving and hardworking woman, had been battling cancer for some time. Through your generosity, we were able to walk alongside his family—providing monthly food support and school supplies so Denis and his sister could continue studying.

But this August, tragedy struck. Denis’s mother passed away, leaving behind two young children and a grieving grandmother. It’s in moments like this that our mission becomes even clearer—to not only mentor through soccer but to stand with families when they need hope the most.
As we remember how essential it is to help those in need, we'd like to share a short interview we were able to conduct with Denis and his mother at the beginning of the year, which demonstrates how Joseline and Denis were always believing God in the midst of their struggles.
Today, our mentors continue to support Denis spiritually, emotionally, and materially. We hold onto the words from Nehemiah 8:10: “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
We invite you to join us in making sure youth like Denis never walk through hardship alone.Your support—whether through prayer, monthly giving, or joining a mission trip—helps us bring God’s love, mentorship, and tangible hope to hundreds of youth in Guatemala.
